Michael Kors is a Genius

Just in case the headline failed to get the point across, designer Michael Kors truly embodies what fashion SHOULD be. My love affair with MK started a few years ago, and ever since I’ve been completely and utterly hooked. Everything he creates is 24K fashion-gold – from his couture collection to ready-to-wear to his killer-shoe line, and my personal favorite (sigh), the handbags. His clothing and accessories are classically comfortable, and thankfully, minus an ounce of frump (which tends to be the all too frequent companion of "comfort"). He knows how to tailor clothing that is flattering for women of all shapes and sizes and creates looks that everywoman wouldn’t mind being caught dead (or preferably), alive in. Many-a-woman would scoff at the dreamy ideal of being able to open her closet, pull out the first thing she sees, put it on and look instantly fabulous. Ladies, dream no more - if MK is your genie consider that wish granted.

From indulgent cashmere sweaters and tailored pants to ultra-feminine bohemian blouses, MK captures the wonderfully complex essence of what makes up a woman: be it career-oriented professionals who want clothing that is serious, but not stuffy; or singletons and mothers who want to be able to run errands or look after their children sans Juicy tracksuits or stained sweatpants. Women who want it all – clothing that is both comfortable and elegant with the ability to embrace a strong sense of femininity.

As a true believer of couture fashion and its wildly artistic nature, I’m even more a believer in designers who create for the real women who want to live their lives in clothes that are fabulously fashionable, yet practical. Truly a man after my own heart, MK has several ready-to-wear labels that are reasonably priced – Michael by Michael Kors and Kors by Michael Kors (the latter is a bit more pricey, but definitely still affordable). I proudly own several MK purses and too many MK shoes to count, which means I can speak with authority to the instant feeling of fashion-fabulousness I feel the minute I slip on a pair of MK wedges, or when I pack my favorite oversized MK monogrammed bag with my wallet, keys, cell phone—and half my bathroom.
