RUNWAY REPORT: Coco Johnsen's Spring/Summer '08 Collection

Romance was in full swing at Coco Johnsen’s Spring/Summer ’08 Collection “Trail of Tears.” Her collection was beautifully feminine, utilizing lots of silk, chiffon and Swarovski crystal accents – a girl’s dream come true.

French music played dreamily as the models walked the runway in airy, billowy gowns adorned with floral accents – such as the yellow ANNA baby doll with petals (pictured). Her use of brushed metallics played off soft, flowing fabrics, detailed with sheer polka dots or chiffon petals. All of her designs were perfectly tailored and captured a true modern elegance.

My favorite look from Johnsen’s collection was the white silk sleeveless TULI blouse worn with a red Dupioni skirt (pictured) – successfully pairing the structure of the tailored pencil skirt with a free-form, heavenly sheer blouse.

Johnsen’s designs are best imagined worn by a beautiful woman walking the streets of Paris – perusing the food at an outdoor market, a bunch of fresh-cut daisies in hand. Elegant, delicate, gorgeously feminine.
